Dress Code: Semi-formal (tie optional). Please note, the reception will take place in a tent outside the lodge on a grassy area, so we recommend comfortable shoes!

Kids: Bring your little ones! Young children are welcome at both the wedding mass and reception. We just ask you keep an extra close eye on them near the lake, as there won't be a lifeguard on duty.

Staying at White Birch Lodge

All units at the White Birch Lodge are reserved exclusively this weekend for our wedding guests to book. The property is lakefront and includes private beaches, docks, kayaks, paddleboards, fire pits, and shared outdoor spaces. Accommodations range from rustic cabins to condos, townhouses, and hotel-style rooms. Breakfast will be provided Saturday and Sunday mornings for all guests staying on-site. Please note that not all of the rooms at the lodge have air conditioning -- it's usually pretty mild at this time of year in Northern Michigan, but there are also a limited number of add-on air conditioning options available at an additional cost (these are first come first serve).

Staying at The Dexter Hotel

We have reserved a block of rooms at the nearby Dexter Hotel, located 5 minutes drive from White Birch Lodge. These rooms are reserved at a discounted rate for our wedding guests using the code name "Bowen Young Wedding." There is a minimum stay of three nights for the discount to be applied. The discounted rate and reserved block is available until July 21, 2026
